Esta lección se centra en expresiones comunes para dar y seguir direcciones en situaciones cotidianas y de negocios. Aprenderás formas claras y corteses para guiar a alguien y pedir indicaciones.

  • Expresiones típicas: turn left/right, go straight, take the first/second exit, it's on your left/right
  • Usa pasos concisos y cronológicos al dar direcciones
  • Adapta el tono: preguntas corteses al pedir, imperativos directos al dar (en contextos hablados)

Key rules for giving directions

Sé claro, cronológico y cortés. Usa puntos de referencia y cifras para reducir la ambigüedad.

  • Da los pasos en orden: first, then, next, finally.
  • Usa el imperativo para direcciones habladas: 'Turn left', 'Go straight'.
  • Incluye distancia o tiempo cuando sea posible: 'for two blocks', 'about a five-minute walk'.
  • Usa puntos de referencia: 'next to the post office', 'opposite the hotel'.

Common mistakes

  • Preposiciones incorrectas: confundir 'in', 'at', 'on' para lugares y movimiento.
