Present Simple — I do / work / like

El present simple describe acciones habituales, rutinas, hechos y verdades generales. Usamos la forma base del verbo con I/you/we/they, y añadimos -s o -es para he/she/it. Para negativas y preguntas usamos el auxiliar do/does + verbo en forma base.

  • Uso para hábitos y rutinas: I work from 9 to 5.
  • Uso para hechos y verdades generales: Water boils at 100°C.
  • Usar do/does para negativas y preguntas: She doesn't like coffee. Does he work here?

Tip

Regla clave: tercera persona y auxiliares

Recuerde dos puntos esenciales:

  • Agregue -s o -es al verbo para he/she/it en oraciones afirmativas (She likes, He watches).
  • Use do/does (no -s) para negativas y preguntas: He doesn't work. Does he work?

Si usa does en una pregunta o negativa, siempre use el verbo en su forma base (sin -s).

Tip

Errores comunes a evitar

Atento a estos errores frecuentes:

  • Olvidar añadir -s/-es con he/she/it (She work → She works).
  • Usar -s después de does/doesn't (Does he works? → Does he work?).
  • Usar present continuous en lugar del simple para rutinas (I am working every day → I work every day).
  • Orden incorrecto de las palabras en preguntas (He does like it? → Does he like it?).
  • Confundir be/have con las formas con do (She don't → She doesn't; los verbos be son distintos: She is).
